Change your attitude.
Assume there is a weapon.

Some students have a hard time putting attitude into their training. I have found that when they introduce a weapon into their practice it enhances their focus. Their power goes up. Their intensity goes up. Their accuracy and stamina go up. A weapon indicates more of a threat. The possibilities of injury increase. The response is more aggressive. When assuming the attacker has a weapon the response is a bit more reliable. If there is not a weapon your chances of survival increase. If you do not assume there is a weapon and there is one the attacker just gained an advantage. Don't give away any advantage. Train as if your life depends on it. It just might.
